New Pop Up Bar Opens On Stone Street

‘Unfussy and romantic’ is what the new pop up bar Grievous Angel, which just opened up on 53 Stone Street, is aiming for. The pop up concept is run by Chris Kazimi and will start off as a bar only, serving beer, cocktails and natural wines.

The owners of Etrusca, the Italian restaurant which permanently closed a few weeks ago, have opened up a pop up bar in the same location at 53 Stone St. They discretely opened their doors on Thursday last week without any big announcement, but will likely be throwing a proper opening party soon.

The pop up concept is run by Chris Kazimi and is starting off as a bar only — serving beer, cocktails and wine (including natural and orange wines!) — but according to the owners there will be food added to the menu sometime in the upcoming weeks. Cuisine is yet to be confirmed.

Unlike Etrusca, which leaned towards fine dining, this new spot aims to be more casual and laidback while still offering a slightly more elevated atmosphere than other spots on Stone Street — Kazimi describes the vibe as “unfussy & romantic”. The cocktails are currently priced between $12-16, beer between $7-9, and wines by the glass between $11-16.

While labeled a pop up at the moment, there’s a chance this place will become a permanent installment on the street if it proves popular with the local crowd over the next couple months. So if you’re into petnats and Spaghetts, or if you welcome some more variety of options on the street, we suggest showing your support by stopping by Grievous Angel for a drink.

The official hours are Tue-Thur 5-11 pm and Fri-Sat 5 pm-12 am, but in Chris’ own words he’ll ”stay open as long as y’all are drinking”.
